Consumers / Employers

Beginning January 1, 2013, Employers Must Use the New Documents to comply with the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) has issued regulations which update language in several existing documents required by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA).

These revised documents (Summary of Rights under the FCRA and Notice to Users of Consumer Reports: Obligations of Users Under the FCRA) are relevant to your screening program and need to be incorporated into your background check process. The deadline to implement and incorporate these revised documents into your screening process is January 1, 2013.

Please make sure you distribute and review these documents to all individuals involved with your background screening program. This will help to ensure continued education of your organization's obligations under the FCRA.

Links for updated documents are below.  Clients can also find the documents in the forms directory of EZyCHECK™.
